We found a new church!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   We've been homechurching for a while, but DH and I have really been wanting to go back to an actual church. Dh found one he likes thru a friend. We met the Pastor last nite and he is a really nice guy. We'll start going this coming Sunday and WE CAN"T WAIT!!!!. We've been praying on this for a while, so hopefully it'll be our new home.

Dh is also going to a Promise Keepers Convention next month in Seattle. He's never gone before and is really interested. Him, and a friend are gonna fly down and back together. Im planning on using this time, to really delve into my copy of  Created to Be His Helpmeet.

We're going back to Homeschooling :):):):). That didnt take too long. Dh doesnt like the kids being gone from home all day and stuck with homework all nite. He will let Michael and Ezra finish the month of Sept, then, back to the Kitchen Table. Although I liked my quiet mornings, the evenings were too hectic, and with Mike starting Hockey soon, and Ezra in Karate, and Braedon coming home, it was going to get worse. Im soo proud of Dh these days, being a wonderful husband, dad, and decision-maker.

The pic of the kitty is our cat, Rico. Michael, who just asked for some water, suggestted I put a pic up :). Since Dh doesnt want the kids pics flying around the net, the cat was a safe option

I love listening to the Judds, but I get so sappy since they are awesomely beautiful voiced singers. Love can build a bridge, is one of Dh's absolute favorites, so I thought I would dedivate it to him today

Planning a Vacation :):):):):).

Dh has put me in charge of planning a Vacation for the family, around next  spring break( April perhaps?) for us, 6 kids, all boys, then ranging in ages of a few months to 10 yrs, plus us, the happy-go lucky parents LOL.

We're thinking of the Austin/San Antonio Areas of Texas. I've been wanting to go see that area for a while, and DH has a friend who lives in the Austin Area.Anyone have any suggestions on places to stay? We're plannin on leaving Alaska by 2008( 3 yrs, whoohoooo :)) and are looking to settle somewhere WARRRRRRRRRRMMM.

I think we're going to be doing a Child Sponsorship project soon. This is going to be a family project,, both from an educational point of view, and a heart point of view ( to think of those less fortunate, being thankful to God for the gifts and blessings he provides for you)I am thinking of maybe possibly a boy form Africa or Thailand.

The boys get allowances, and 20% goes to charity/worthy cause, this week, we told them, their donations would be going , along with mom and dad's few bucks, to the american red cross to the Hurricane Katrina victims. They havent read or heard much about it  ( we dont allow them to watch the news), though we read the paper sometimes, but knew this was something important, so they decided to give another 10%, for a total of 30%. I did explain to them that the additional 10% was completely optional, but they decided to do it anyway

We really hope the victims can start recovering and rebuilding soon.

Getting colder

Blech. We live in Alaska, so it gets colder a lot harsher and quicker than it does for parts of the rest of the country. It got down to 35 last nite, and is right now, about 38 at 9:30 in the morning. Time to dig out the warmer clothes and blankets.

Aaron , David and I, have gotten into a bonding time routine in the mornings. After Michael and Ezra are off to school, I usually wake the lil guys up, make them breakfast( usally dry cheerios, they dont like milk in cereal, some fruit, and a sippy cup of milk, pile onto the big bed, and watch the berenstein bears on pbs. I remember reading these books when I was a lil kid, I cant believe something like that is still around in our violent-prone world.

DH decided to change the name of our new blessing due in December. Now he is settled on Jakob Joshua Daniel. The lil bundle is due around Dec 12th. DH's friend from college and his wife,  are gonna keep watch on our kids, while the birth is taking place. Im  making lil activity packs to help keep the kids busy.. Each lil baggie will have a box of crayons (small) a few printouts, a small box of cheerios, some crackers and granola bars, maybe a new small toy or too, and a book. The boys are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the newest blessing.

Our heartfelt prayers go out to those affected by Hurricane Katrina. Thankfully neither of us have realtives down there, but just the thought that mother nature has that kind of a fury is baffeling. We hope those severly affected, with God's help, will be able to recover soon.

Finally back online .....

My never ending computer came back last week and something crashed my computer. UGH. but praise the Lord Dh's friend J was able to completely fix it yesterday so now its running all smooth and pretty. I was afraid we would have to either A) Buy a new one, which we dont have the funds for or B) take it to the computer repair shop and pay and arm and a leg. Dh's friend was able to get it back up with no problem, and it only cost me pizza delivery ( had to feed the poor guy something, this took 10 hrs)

Michael and Ezra started their school yr in the private school up here last week. So far so good.Theyre making a few new pals., but Im closely monitoring that. Theyre not allowed to play unsupervised and only can only invite 1 friend over, 1 day a week.( and both DH and I have to meet the parents and approve of them, and the kids first) I want them to make friends. but dont want them straying from family. so i have a tight hold on them at the moment.

Im still doing some educational things with my two youngest (Aaron and David) I dont want them bored all day, or glued to the television. I mainly do some printouts, bible reading, numbers, colors (beyond the basic since they both know that)and let them play with the leapfrog toys.

We said good-bye to two friendships last week. Both these ladies are gay. and while they were great to be friends with, we were starting to feel a bit led to axe the friendship since we know the bible speaks against this, as does God, and we want our boys to become Godly men, fathers, husbands, How can they if we allow this in out family's life.As hard as it was to say goodbye. We know our boys and our family will be better off spiritually in the long run.

T- minus 54 days(i think) till Braedon comes home.He MAY be able to come home earlier, if a slot opens up sooner with his upcoming therapist in town they are assigning him to.( they want a therapy plan in place before he comes home), but if not, it is still set for October. We're revamping and painting his room, and may be ( dh hasnt decided yet) be putting an alarm on his door.
